Once again, I'm trying my hand at NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month.  This year, my goal is to have a COMPLETE (or reasonably close to complete) story at the end of the month.  This means my chapters are going to be shorter than usual, but I'll also be updating faster than usual.  Hopefully it's an acceptable trade.

You may also have noticed that I have changed the categories for my fics.  Since I write with a variety of pairings, including stories where either the pairing doesn't matter or I want to save it till the end for a joke, I decided not to bother sorting by pairings.  Instead, I'm sorting by the length of the fic - between one-shots and chaptered fics.  I may, at some point, break out short one-shots vs. longer one-shots, but at the moment that's not necessary.  Story summaries will have relevant pairings and any slash warnings.

 WOO! Fidelius has been nominated in two categories for the Multifaceted Award! This is my first nomination for something like this, so I'm all a-twitter!

Fidelius has been nominated in the Intelligence (Drama) and Possibility (AU) categories. I've read some of the other stories that have been nominated, and they're good, so the competition is going to be lively! 

Would it be bad of me if I asked you all to go and stuff the ballot box? (Voting starts July 5, so there's plenty of time for you to read all the fics there and make an informed decision.)

On November 30, about half way through Chapter 6 of Fidelius, I reached the 50,000 word mark necessary to meet the NaNoWriMo challenge!  Go me! 

My characters immediately decided that that was a good time to go on vacation.

They're back now, the remainder of Chapter 6 has been bashed into shape, and we're back on  track!  Next chapter:  Hogwarts!

For those of you unfamiliar with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), it is a bit of organized madness in which participants attempt to write a 50,000 word story in the course of the month of November. I participated in this challenge in 2003 and barely succeeded. In 2005, armed with an actual plot outline, I hope to achieve this goal more satisfactorily. This story is being posted with no beta, each chapter going out as soon as I deem it finished. Thanks for coming along for the ride with me.
