loving this NaNoWriMo challenge fic. It's so interesting. I look forward to learning more about Harry's interesting childhood with the Addams. :-)

Great job on putting Dumbledore in his place - "As you arranged? Why did you have any say in Harry's placement?" asked Gomez, his eyes glittering. "Are you the executor of his parents' wills? Are you his trustee or guardian?"

"I told you, I am the Headmaster at Hogwarts School."

"A position with no official status, sir. At least none of which I am aware. Certainly not the authority to place an orphaned child."

I have often wished for someone to put this to his face and see the result. It is much as I had thought - he has *no* available response.

Now, about this:

Hmm. Know any large dogs? Foreshadowing? I'm not sure if it would be a good idea for Sirius to show up there.

I like the mysterious touch of Albus not really understanding the magic that seems to surround the Addams' and their house. Will make for some interest later on, as the poor man tries to understand who Harry has become.

If you are interested in seeing get dumbledore get his ass kicked, then you should look for the fanfic: sunrise over britain OR sunset over britain.
er that is a very interesting fanfic and quit worth reading.

GO DUMBLEDORE :p lol i suspect he might try something more subtile to get his hands on harry.
And next time he tries he should be told in a cough cough "subtile" way how futile it is to try and take him away. Plus it aint a good idea to bring him back to the dursleys.

Sure ... if Dumbledore had ever presented it for probate.   He didn't do it then and he can't do it now, and that's going to be an upcoming plot point.   Remember, Gomez is a lawyer.   He may lose all his criminal cases on purpose, but he's competent where family matters are concerned.

You write excellent Gomez. I liked the way you had Mrs Figg move in. Dumbledore's first impressions of the house were well done. I think you're right and it would have been that odd to him. More please. Very good chapter. I particularly enjoyed the reference to son of a bitch stew and the donation that showed exactly how rich the Addams family are.

I suppose it's too much to hope that Dumbles and Snape will get theirs before this little story is finished? I dream of seeing Albus publicly shown to be a manipulative bastard who thinks nothing of dropping off innocent babies that he has kidnapped on stranger's doorsteps. Will there ever be a fanfic where Dumbles becomes a wanted criminal for kidnapping and child neglect, along with the child abuse and mind raping he approves of at Hogwarts...when will there be justice for the children???

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER!!!! I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter. I can't wait to see Harry "Growing up Addams" that should be most interesting if you ask me. I like how you have pretty much updated on an almost daily basis I like that, don't get me wrong if you updated on an every other day basis I still wouldn't complain, hell if you updated once a week I wouldn't complain, Bob and Alyx might but well there just strange, I still wonder if their not related to the Addams. Nice chapter. However I do not believe Dumbledore would have maintained the fiction of being merely a headmaster of a school (no matter how exclosive or prestigeous). While if he believed the Addams' were muggle he would not reveal the 'supreme wugwamp' and related titles but instead would have arranged documents showing him to have some sort of British official. Since he'd likely not have thought he'd need such documents in advance (since he'd expected to have the U.S auror equivalents to back him up) they'd be no more then transfigured papers or covered in illusion.

Dumbledore in the books only introduces himself as Headmaster but it's false humility since he knows he doesn't need to mention his other titles, and in fact by not mentioning them sometimes draws attention to them. Dealing with the Addams he wouldn't have that so would not have remained as just a headmaster when presenting himself.

Dumbledore is used to people understanding, and responding to, all those understated titles as you point out.   It didn't even occur to him that in the U.S. he wouldn't have that clout, especially with Muggles (I get the feeling he doesn't deal with Muggles much at all, not even the parents of his students).   And the wards on the house were affecting his thinking.  

It has now been made obvious to him that he will have to take another tack.

*snicker* You -almost- have to feel sorry for Dumbledore here, but he set things in motion by neglecting/rejecting Harry's godfather and he'll have to live with what he gets; though that may well be far more outre' than what even he suspects.
