I adore this story.

Evil foreshadowing on that last line. ("Foreshadowing - your clue to good literature" - Bloom County).

Still loving this! Thanks so much. This is funny and serious at the same time.

Another TV show item that you might want to include - Pugsley's pet octopus Aristotle.

Hullo, Dorothy.

My, my. Judging by the number of reviews you are getting, your story seems to have struck a chord. (or the pessimist view is that the fanfic world is really going down hill and people are desperate for anything... :-)

Hot Wassail poured from the tower... I remember that from the opening of the movie, and I think it might have been in a comic also?

Lighting a fire for Santa ... I've seen that somewhere before also, but I don't remember which of the three Addams' sources it came from.

In another review response you mentioned Occlumency... two responses occur to me. First, Dumbledore's poking about could be detected on one of his visits, which gives them a reason to deal with it.

The other idea is to just ignore it totally. Occlumency has become a rather common thing in fan fiction. But look at the books. All(?) the legilimency that we've seen has been rather brute force'sih -- Snape bashing into Harry's head during OoTP, Voldemort posessing him, the dreams at night... These are all easily noticed. Yes, I've read essays and such suggesting that Snape was using this on Harry in earlier books, but has that ever been confirmed? Ditto for Albus' twinkle in his eye? Just trying to think outside the box here.

Harry as a gifted fencer, and perhaps a knife thrower too? -- that will be quite fun to see at Hogwarts. Especially if he picks up enough of Gomez' sense of humour about such encounters.

Hadn't forseen the whole Addams family planning on going with Harry to England. That will be something to see.

Hmm, we heard their comments on enemies. Imagine the first time that Lucius sets foot in their house?

Minor Suggestion: Lurch teaching Harry the Harpsichord? Gomez knew music as well, I think. I remember this scene from the TV show where Gomez was making a horrendous noise on the harpsichord, as he was composing a piece for three hands, so that Lurch could duet with Thing. Or maybe Wednesday will be a musician. Can't see Pugsley doing much, percussion maybe, with blasting caps.

Hmmmm, just thinking about Ginny. She was quite the fireball in OoTP and HBP. Imagine if she never had her crush in the first place, and instead hit it off with Wednesday as a friend. I can see her fitting in well there.

and I'd better stop there.

Yup, that was one of the cartoons.   When they opened the movie that way, I squeed in delight because I knew they 'got' what the Addams Family was about.

Lighting a fire for Santa ... I've seen that somewhere before also, but I don't remember which of the three Addams' sources it came from.

Lighting the fire for Santa, complete with the dialogue, was another Addams cartoon, as was chopping Wednesday's doll's head off in a guillotine.   I think there's one showing Pugsley playing with little siege equipment, but I'm not sure.

Morticia played the violin, I think.   They really are a very Victorian family, where people made their own entertainment.   I don't believe the Addamses have a television set, much less video games.   I can see Pugsley 'playing' the cannon in the 1812 Overture.   Did you know that Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch, was actually playing the harpsichord in those scenes?   And he also played Thing.

HAH! A good chapter, the Adams preschooling of the children should leave them with a very unique leg up for Hogwarts. The staff won't know what hit them, and I pity Malfoy and the Jr. Death Eater crew. Outstanding work, thank you.

Woohoo! Yay to the Addams family raising Harry. Wonderful, wonderful. To bad Dumbledore doesn't carry "giving up" in his vocaabulary. He's just going to make it so much harder on himself. Mwuahahaha!

Thanks for sharing!

Another great chapter! When Harry goes to Hogwarts, I have to wonder if the rest of the Family will move to England. Buy a 'winter home' as it were. The Shrieking Shack would probably be right up their alley! Isn't it mentioned in the books that it's for sale?

I love the Adamses quirks and bits of wisdom that you've put in:

1) "Look, you wouldn’t give a six-year-old a loaded gun, would you? Never mind, maybe you would."

2) "What’s the first rule about enemies?"

"Make sure they’re dead before you turn your back on them," chorused the three children.

I get the feeling that this one is going to cause malfoy and Snape a world of hurt. :)

3) The children remembered Pugsley’s early fear of the old man with the white whiskers who came into people’s houses on Christmas Eve, and made sure that the fireplace was kept ablaze all night. "The little dears!" murmured Aunt Morticia to Uncle Gomez. "They still believe in Santa Claus!"

I rather like Blair. He clearly knows at least some of what the Addams are, but he's not intimidated. He's trying his best to look out for the kids. Even going so far as standing up to Morticia for the kids' sake. His arguments make perfect sense, if you're looking at it from his POV. Treat the Family with respect, but do NOT let the kids do something stupid and/or dangerous. Perhaps he should've explained that that spell in particular is (literally) deadly. Might've made more of an impact on Morticia. *shrug*

Interesting that the only one in Harry's dream that he "saves" is Wednesday.

Huh. Morticia already knew what the AK spell was. Well, not suprising that she wouldn't prevent the kids from "playing" with it.

Oh, good explanation on why he has to go back to England. If nothing else, Harry will go simply to keep LV away from the Family. But by that logic, he'll try to keep Wednesday (and Pugsley) from coming with him.

> solemnly promised each other that they would never do anything so disgusting.
*snicker* Kids are great fun to write, aren't they?

> Wednesday developed an interest in spiders
*smirk* Acromantulas & Ron. Oh, so many possibilities to use here . . .

> drenched with a cauldron full of hot wassail, poured on them from the top of the tower.
Ishtar, have I mentioned that I think you're a genius?

> They were rather disappointed when the Satanists didn’t come back after that.

That's a direct steal from the original cartoon and the movie, both of which show carolers at the door and the Family on top of the tower dumping a cauldron of something on them.   It could have been hot eggnog or boiling oil or something truly noxious, I suppose.   But I think Lurch would have held out for the wassail because he was the one who would have to clean up the mess afterward.   Any carolers who get past a locked gate with a sign saying "Trespassers Will Be Eaten" deserve what they get, IMO.

Excellent! When the kids start at Hogwarts, it should be very interesting. I really hope Wednesday gets to harass Ronald Weasley with spiders!

Please continue!

Another very excellent chapter. I like how the 'satanists' were scared away!

Thank you for writing.

A crossover that I had never expected or seen before. Absolutely marvolous. This tale is a true delight. I'm seeing the Adamms family in a new way and enjoying every word of it.

I think I like this story more with each chapter. Gomez was excellent, and the satanists a nice touch. I am surprised that no tutor would stay; your North American magicals must be whimpier than mine!

And poor Dumbles -- the Addams' are coming to Hogsmeade!

Another excellent chapter. I can imagine that the Addams family would teach Harry quite a bit about life and magic just based on their nature.

I can remember watching the shows as a child with great fondness so for me this fic is a vastly entertaining piece. Keep up the great work.

VERY nice chapter.
I am really curious where the the three kids will end up.
I would suggest wendesday in ravenclaw pugsley in huffpleful and harry in slytherin.
Why? because harry ALWAYS ends up in gryffondoer. and I dont think slytherin is really bad.
What I always find interesting: is when authors try to make draco and snape 'good' people. I mean, c'mon a grown up guy cant keep a grudge for so long right? maybe he is tougher on harry yes because he wants to check him out...
ANYWAY i'm eagirly awaiting the next chapter.
On a different note: i'm looking for a person that is willing to help beta read my personal fics.
Good job.

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER!!!! Sorry about giving you two reviews last time, my brower messed up and when I hit refresh it apparently thought I meant refresh the review...opps!. I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter of this amazing story. I wish Dumbledork would give up his insestant wish to control Harry. I mean Harry is after all having the thing that he wanted Harry to have and thats a normal childhood. I can't wait till the part where Wednesday, Pugsley and Harry all go to Hogwarts I somehow don't think Hogwarts is honestly ready for the Addames. Since you've brought up the founder of the Addams family grave twice now are you planning on having them explore the tomb at any point in the story? DO keep up the outstanding work and update soon please:):):):)

I keep going back to Morticia's "we'll all have to go there" and imagining Hagrid and Fester lifting a pint together at the Hogshead....

Another Grand "Great" for you, i guess. I hope Dumbledore doesn't do anything too stupid, and that the Addams continue to feast on their enemies :-)
