I hope that this story will be continued. There are so many unanswered questions. Would Harry remember to create dreamcatcher, and how well would it work? How would his Vision Quest look like, and what spirit guide or spirit guides would Harry get? Would he learn how to create Marauders Map, with errors removed (like marking Polyjuiced and Imperio'ed people and Animagi in animal form)?

In new Orlean, would Harry meet with the true voodoo, with acting on representation (voodoo dolls, maps etc.) transforming to acting on real object, calling loa for (short term) possession to act etc.?

Would Harry learn Necromancy? Tactic and Strategy?

About Light application of Unforgivable Curses: it was suggested in other HP fanfic that mild version of Cruciatus can be used to stimulate nerve endings in medicine, Imperio can be used to try to overcome phobias and perhaps mild version be used (if one can give the orders not out loud as form of communication), Killing curse as last resort protection.

My goodness! This story is absolutely wonderful. I'm very impressed with the novel-like feel to the story. You have done an excellent job of capturing the characters and showing new, but reasonable, sides to them. I look forward to seeing how you 'grow' these characters.

It's the American magical culture that has my greatest interest. I love the way you have developed and presented it. I also agree with the way you have presented the British magical Ministry as insular and almost xenophobic. It has been an impression that has grown, for me at least, with each book released. I'm greatly interested in seeing more about the Vision Quest and wonder what Totem, if any, Harry will encounter on it.

I also hope to see more about the medallion Harry found when they planted his tree. Will it play an important roll in the plot? What about that wizard that was running that 'con'? Will he be making another appearance? I'm hoping that Harry's up-coming talk with another Parselmouth will help him in dealing with his discomfort and unease about his own gift.

I'm eagerly awaiting your next chapter!

Well, I'm certainly enjoying this foray into American Wizardry. You write well and it sounds as if you have an interesting story to tell. However as a Brit (currently residing in a cold corner of New England) I am concerned that you are starting to tip over into that well known trap for "Harry Potter visits the USA" authors; the bloody Yanks are better at EVERYTHING.

WHile that is certainly a natural situation (I'm assuming you are American - apologies if it's an incorrect assumption!), wanting your own nation to be a little bit better, it does get slightly wearing (for a godamn Limey anyway!). So far it's not too bad though (just potions and maths and a few other things)...

If you'd like to start to even the scores a bit (from my point of view!) I would say that the biggest failing would be insularity. British newspapers propably have at least half a dozen pages of international news everyday, and national elections in any major country would be front page news - that never seems to happen over here.

Anyway enough of my compaints; I can't wait to hear what you have in store for Harry (and his counterparts at Hogwarts) I hope you carry on once you have finished (or at the same time as) Fidelius.

I am, indeed, American. And a good portion of my story is based on the idea that the British Wizarding World, as opposed to the Muggle world, has pulled itself into its shell like a turtle. The British Muggle papers have a good focus on the international scene, but I've already established (back in Chapter 2, I think) that the Prophet regards anything outside Britain as unimportant or "quaint".

Yes, the Americans do certain things differently, and in some cases better. They also have their weak points. Britain/Europe have their own strengths. And I haven't even touched on what the Japanese are up to ...

(I thoroughly agree with you about the blinkered American worldview, btw.)

This story will be carried on, never fear. I have too much of the end story already written to abandon it now.

Adore it! Wonderfully human characterization of Harry, without him being anonymous and conglomorate. Congratulations on reasonably interesting original characters, but the relationships and dynamics could do with a bit more develoment and clarification. Who exactly is Harry closest to in the group? Great story. I have to admit I overlooked you at first when I first found this site network. However, you have an unique kind of imagination that makes your work some of the very best I have ever read, fanfiction or original. Many of the unique concepts and twists you come up with would make for interesting stories in their own right. Congratulations on this masterpiece!

Please continue your work on this. Is this 'Anna' the mysterious OFC you want to pair Harry up with? Or do we have to wait a while longer to be introduced to Harry's future partner?

First let me echo others in praising this story so far. Ms. Rowling may have the money but she obviously does not have all the talent.

I notice there is a strong libertarian theme in the story so far. I don't know if this just to create a strong contrast between the British and American Wizarding Communities or is more integral to the plot. Nevertheless, I find it a very refreshing change and I hope it continues.

I hate you. But only because I hit the current end of the fic and have no idea when more will be coming.
I absolutly LOVE the fic though. The characters are well thought out and actually THREE DIMENTIONAL! Do you know how hard it is to find a fanfic where the characters have depth? Hell, do you know how hard it is to find a fanfic where there isn't a rigid seperation between Good and Evil? I'm also enjoying a lot of the complexity of the magics; not just the wanded British magics, but some of the older tradtions like Wiccan and Folkelore. In fact you are one of the few people who actually make use of the Fae (normally it's elves in the Tolkin tradition).
Although I wonder what Draco would make of his (I'm assuming) cousin Bart. Would be very intersting to see.
