Well, I'd have to say that given the way JKR has been going with her version of the story, I certainly could see Harry doing this if the opportunity presented itself. He really doesn't have much of a connection with anyone else, save perhaps Luna, and I just don't think that he's quite enough of a non-Euclidian thinker as presented to link long term with her without considerably longer association first.
I do love the idea of their progeny kicking serious Dark Lord tailbone in the future, though. Probably started a whole new fad for Post Owls, though. :)

Heheh... Nice one. Very true, too. And I can just see Dumbles pulling that kind of crap in the second to last line. Well done!

Well that was slightly absolutely hilarious... and totally random... but great none the less... LOL! Harry and Hedwig? What gave you the idea? Fantabulous...

A nice little unexpected ending. Well, Harry did tell the truth after all. She has been his most faithful friend of all. Additionally, let's face it, what is there really holding Harry to the human race? We haven't exactly tried to endear ourselves to him. :-p
This is a humour story but it does have an important point about the character and life of Harry Potter.

Ahaha. Loved the ending, and the whole rant really. Be nice to see a little drabble about the owls defeating the dark lord. Heh.

Fantastic ending, though rather a gloomy middle.

Very nice, Dorothy. I kinda thought that's where this was going.
Hedwig is truely the one who has been with Harry from the beginning ... hmmm ... do you think this is they way JKR is going? ;)
One minor nit ... I would have switched the last two lines ...
No one ever saw Harry Potter again.
However, twenty years later, ...

Wonderful! Just great! Loved the way you pretty much had Harry show why everyone in the Potterverse is a bit selfish, in a funny way. Here's to more Hedwig/Harry Ship's someday, LOL.
Just a wonderfully funny story here.

Great little one-shot. Love the potshots/references at the most popular 'solutions' of Harry's happiness problem throughout the fandom. I saw the last bit coming after Hedwig defended Harry from Ginny. The Great Post Owl Rebellion is just priceless, though. The 'true Hogwarts Champion' line was also quite powerful.
Keep up the good work! I'm hoping for a chapter of 'Family Values' next!
