A wonderful chapter.

The idea of Gomez facing off against Dumbldore is almost too funny to contemplate :-)

I really like this story very much.

Very good. I can almost see where this is going. Or maybe not. What other Joys will you have for Mr Bumblebee? I hope you have some good cliffies up your sleeve.
Good job.

I've never read a Harry Potter/Addam's family crossover. It's wonderful! I love it and hope you continue. I can't wait to read more. It's different and great.

Hahahahahaha

Loved the way Dumbledore lost :D Can't wait to see what happens once the kids get to school.

Chris

PS:

Not all of the parents were easily reachable, of course, since most of them worked, and it was not surprising that Morticia and Gomez got their first.

I think it's "there"

Heh, Dumbles get's his fingers burnt yet again. Nice chapter. I especially like the school yard fight and the aftermath. I look forward to the future chapters, especially when it's time for the kids to go to school. I can forsee quite the battle to convince Gomez & Morticia that Hogwarts is suitable. :)

Keep up the great work.

Growing up in New Mexico, I unfortunately never saw 'The Addams Family', and I was never able to see the movie. That said, I think this AU adventure is extremely well written, and, to tell the truth, funny as hell!
I have, from the first, seen Dumbledore as an interfering, manipulative and self deluded man. It's really nice to see him set back on his heels.
So far, I can't see anything wrong with Harry's upbringing, other than a few odd family traits. I've seen healthy children grow up under stranger circumstances.
I really like the intervention of the Agency for the management of underage magic. (although it really should be a 'Department' rather than an 'Agency'.
Dumbledore's machinations also seem to be blowing up in his face almost at every turn. The stonewalling he encountered was particularly enjoyable, and the court scene was hilarious!
I eagerly await the next installment of 'Family Values'.

I so totally love this story!!!

This is the best crossover ever.

I smile the whole time while reading it and eagerly look forward to reading more. The way you have woven the hp and addams family verses together is wonderful.

Go Family!

Ka-CHING!

Love it! This is so great! Still loving Dumbledore getting put in his place. The calling of "Mrs. Petunia Dursley" was sheer genius.

The description of the children's upbringing was tremendously funny and I loved the color changing clothing, as well as the description of Harry as "your color-blind nephew."

My only complaint is this: every time I read an update of this wonderful story, I find myself hours later singing under my breath, "du du du dum <snap> <snap>, du du du dum <snap> <snap>" etc...

:-)

I am enjoying this story a great deal. So much humor in fan fiction is rather lame or tame but I find this story puts a smile on my face. Please keep up the good work.

Thank you I never noticed(selling?) in the movies or any thing in color for them befor.

Ishtar replied:

There are very few cartoon references with them in color, but the gallery at charlesaddams.com currently has a color portrait of the whole family.   Gomez is wearing what looks like an orange and brown striped jacket (although the brown could just be shading), Lurch is wearing a green jacket, and Grandmama is wearing a green dress and orange floral shawl.   In the movies, Gomez wears such things as a green fencing shirt, a purple brocade dressing gown, a suit with wide blue and red stripes, and a bright red cossack shirt when dancing the Mamushka.

While the general decor of the house is pretty grim, if you look at the backgrounds in the movie you'll see lots of rich, deep colors in the public rooms, while Gomez's study has lighter walls (green or gold, I think).   The Victorians loved color, and the Addams Family colors are proper, if a little darker than normal for a house of that era.

I'm surprised that the Addams didn't sic their family on Dumbledore. Who will they have to tutor the kids in magic? Does Gomez have an eye out for Harry's family estate and the Blacks as well? Is there witches or wizards anyone in the Addams family that could help teach the kids? Does Gomez know of Harry having a Potter and Black seats in England? I do hope that Pomfrey would get around to defining the limits of emergency for the time turners. Will there be a strike three? Will Harry go to Hogwarts? I fear for what ever house that you drop him off in.

"This left remarkably little time for other things, especially since Madam Pomfrey, at his last physical, had informed him that a man his age shouldn't be using a Time Turner to double up days." Just how old IS Dumbledore, subjectively, then? Two hundred fifty?

Applause for Harry and Wednesday. Boos for Dumbledore. I don't know diddly about the Addams Family, but I'm loving this anyway.

Ishtar replied:

He's not that old - he hasn't been doubling up every day, all day, for a hundred years.   But he has been adding at least a few hours a day, almost every day, for quite some time - probably as long as he's been holding three jobs, and who knows how long that's been?   And he's been getting up at all hours to deal with emergencies, but do you think he ever uses the Turner to take a power nap or get an extra meal or an extra good night's sleep?   No!   So he's been running on too much adrenaline, too many hours up, too little sleep and too few meals for quite some time.   This is making him extra grumpy and his judgment stinks.   Not to mention his blood pressure is sky high.   He'd do better to delegate some more stuff to Minerva and others, or give up one of the side jobs, but he's too much of a control freak to do that.   He knows he's the only one who can do the job right, you see.   (It will get worse when Fudge gets into office, because he'll want all that advice.)

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER!!!! I loved it and I can't wait to see what happens next. I'm glad to see the Addamses sticking it do Dumbledork just as it should be done. DO keep up the outstanding work and update soon please:):):):)

*SNICKER* Now that's getting interesting. I'm sure Harry's getting a far broader and "enlightening" education than he'd ever get in England (or did get, in canon). One can *almost* feel sorry for Bumbledore, it's difficult to play the "great game" if the pieces insist on thinking and acting for themselves.

*shakes head* Dumbledore really should've quit while he was ahead and not tried for Harry, but self-restraint and self-doubt don't seem part of his make-up.
