Brilliant! You did the 'Tish! You spoke French!' I was waiting for one of those. Also, Riddle manor? Very ironic, no? And the found the Gaunts old house? Introducing the Horcrux early on. I like it. Little black book that is empty and found in some sort of ritual room? That was another good idea. So, they have two of them then? He threatened to throw the ring into an active volcano....that was hilarious. I'm really anticipating the next chapter. Cheers.

Ishtar replied:
The book from the ritual room is not the diary. It is not empty; it is filled with "page after page of gibberish". Remus has to break the spell to find out what it is.

It had stopped insisting that he wear it after he had threatened to throw it into an active volcano.
Great line! I love it!
So, does Harry have two Horcruxes now? (the Gaunt/Slytherin ring and the presumably Gryffindor dagger?) hmmmm the plot thickens.
Last update, I was not thinking about them renting the Riddle place, but after I signed off I said, oh, duh, there going to be in ol' Tommy's house.
Great update. Off to Hoggie Warty Hogwarts we go!

Hehehe. Great chapter. The three of them should
cause no end of trouble to both sides of the war.

They found a Horcrux. They found a Horcrux?
Oh, boy.
Nice chapter, Ishtar. Looking forward to the next.

'The ring was carefully stashed in Harry’s vault. It had stopped insisting that he wear it after he had threatened to throw it into an active volcano.'
Precioussssss! How could you! Please put me on?
I'm sorry, I read those two sentences and couldn't help laughing. I love it. I adore this story!

"Baack … offf," [Lurch] groaned threateningly.
About as subtle as a 2x4 to the face, about the right level of bluntess for the Wizarding World. Man, imagine Rita Skeeter trying to bug Harry now? Rita vs. Lurch, about the same speed and outcome as the classic, Bambi vs. Godzilla? :)
Charles Adams, a Squib who’d emptied out his family vault and left England one step ahead of that same inheritance law.
Alright, the Ministry is now on Harry's list (they'll never be missed!). Somehow I don't think the fact that it happened three centuries ago will mitigate the fact that they tried to screw over 'The Family'. I'm sure Gomez will have his own hyperactive methods of mayhem to the pureblood status quo.
Tish," said Uncle Gomez, sweeping her into his arms, "you spoke French!"
"Oui, mon cher," she replied, running her hands up his arms.
"Cara mia," he responded, pulling her closer into a passionate dip.
"Oy vey," said Harry, putting his hands over his eyes.
Random plot bunny hopping through my head continued like this:
"Harry, you spoke Yiddish!" Wednesday purred passionately.
The shack was supposed to be haunted, the boys said with ghoulish relish,
Hmm, too bad for the Townies, against an Addams their scare attempt was woefully underarmed.
Loved Wednesday's commentary (Squaws are in charge, we just let the chiefs think they run things, and 'Harry, did you take your stupid pill today, too!' were great). Remus's estimation of the Ministry's response, foreshadowing? Could Lucas try and sic his pet Minister of Magic on the Addams? I suspect anything that happens after six months would have Gomez and Morticia sitting on an economic MAD situation, ie take Harry and we break the Wizarding World's economy.
As for Harry apparently being 'keyed in' on Tommy Boy's security wards, a wild theory. When the AK rebounded off the blood protections could/did some pieces of Riddle's magic act like shrapnel and imbed in Harry, carrying the Parsel Tounge and enough of Riddle's magical signature to fool his security?
BTW, those that are counting the number of Horacruxes as one or two of six, shouldn't it be one of five at this point? IIRC Riddle made his sixth in GoF, from the death of Frank (the Grounds Keeper at Riddle House), so that's four left, one of them in Malfoy's possession, and the locket already destroyed by Rebus? So two still out there.

Bingo! "He shall mark him as his equal." They have the same magical signature. Which means they can pretty much walk through each other's wards.

Who's "Rebus"? R.A.B. was probably Regulus Black. Ring: Harry has it. Diary: Lucius Has it. Cup: Out there somewhere. Locket: Out there somewhere - we don't know if RAB destroyed it. Ravenclaw Thingie: Out there Somewhere. Gryffindor Thingie: never made. So of the six possible horcruxes, Harry has one and the unmade one, and has to acquire/destroy the other four.

Excellent chapter. I thought that the names you gave the other alleys was an excellent bit of creative brilliance. The Diagon alley trust was a great idea as well. Will oyu have Gomez being a direct descendant of the original trustee be of any signifigance?
Thank you for writing.
Mike (MoA)
P.S. Will Hufflepuff's cup demand that Harry drink from it?

Oy vey! Throw it in an active volcano. Now why didn't Dumbledore thing of that? Must not have been a Tolkien fan.

And now Gomez is the most influncial person in england? that is GREAT!! can't imagine what kind of stuff he will do, betwen insane ideas and advancements of the treatment of all sentinental beigns, I can't wait for the first time Gomez meet Mr. Malfoy.

So the Addams have moved into the Riddle House, and Harry/Addams possess two of the six horcuxes already, Voldemort himself is the seventh, without knowing what they are.
That plus Gomez/Harry controls this "trust" which Malfoy Sr has had cart-blanc until now...
Very interesting.
Given the Addams views, I can see all three in Slytherin... Wonder if Harry would "accept" being the HEir of Slytherin this time. As well as have Gomez countering the Malfor buying just Slytherin brooms, when he could buy the entire school brooms.

I'm really enjoying this story! Dumbledore may have a stroke when he learns that Harry is living in the Riddle house. Am I wrong in thinking Gomez is going to raise the roof of Azkaban before too long? Looking forward to Gomez putting Lucius in his place!

What can I say? I LOVE this story. The writing is fresh and the characters are like old friends that I only knew for a short time. I think we can get another six or seven years out of this story line, n'est pas? (I know, I spoke French!) Now if I could just get Morticia, or maybe her look-alike cousin to notice me. . .

So, they found the Diary? and Harry found Slytherin's ring... apparantly the Horcrux is still intact. Is Harry's scar simply a connection to voldie or is he a Horcrux? I could never understand how he could be a horcrux since Voldie was destroyed and Harry did not die, but perhaps his death was intended as a Horcrux and that is why he has his connection. At least Dumbles won't lose his hand this time around. I eagerly look forward to more. Wonder what Dumbles, who knows that Tom Riddle is Voldie, will do when he learns just where it is that Harry is living.
Of course, if he doesn't know, or chooses to remain silent, then Harry will know after year two... IF the diary they found was not the one containing the Horcrux.
Please post more soon!
