Awww... it's so fun to "grow up Addams." I wanna grow up Addams, too!!! :( whine, whine, complain, complain. ;) heheheh. Good thing I never grew up! Now I'm free to do so. That kinda freaked me out when Pugsley cast that spell; interesting safety feature those wands have. And way to go Morticia, with that Hocus Pocus! :-D hehehe. Scary dream poor Harry had; interesting how it merged with the Addams' House. Don't think I didn't catch the reference to the tomb of Charles Addams being so important and safe. ;) hehehe. I wonder what the Headmaster's got up his sleeve...or trying to get there, anyway. And the whole Family will go to Britain? Intriguing... Whatever will Gomez and Morticia do? ;) hehehe. I can just imagine Grandmama interrupting Snape! :-D ...And Fester! Playing Colonist; aww, how nice. I can only imagine what would happen to Hogwarts' pureblood supremists who tried to take action against the "squibs" Gomez, Morticia, Fester, and Grandmama. :-D *evil grin* Loving it, loving it, loving it, as always, m'dear Ishtar. :) Thank you ever so much for sharing and for another fun update. Take care, and looking forward to more!

"Giving up" is not in the Headmaster's vocabulary and (I sincerely hope) not in yours, either! ;)

Poor Satanists... they thought they were just having some fun, now they think that there are real Satanists around who my be offended by their practices. I wonder if Dumbledore will ever learn to keep away from the Addams family. He is just hurting himself by doing anything against them.

"...and solemnly promised each other that they would never do anything so disgusting."

I loved that line. :-)

Great chapter, thanks for sharing it with us.

You still haven't told us what the department store Santa did to Pugsley that has him so terrified.

The idea of leaving instructions for the Satanists was great.

He put him on his knee and went, "HO HO HO!" very loudly.   Then gave him a candy cane. That traumatizes normal children sometimes.   It was just a wee bit much for Pugsley.

Supposedly there are places up in the Watchung Mountains (well, hills really) which are used for Satanist circles.   I can see the Addams kids finding one of them and critiquing their technique.

I enjoyed this chapter very much! It looks as though all three of the kids will have an excellent grounding before starting Hogwarts. I bet that Wednesday outclasses Trelawny big time, and Harry might scare Snape half to death in potions class! As for Draco......any of the three might end up chasing him all over the school with a rapier! Sigh, it looks like Dumbledore's going to face the Addams smackdown again! They're nice enough to send pictures to let him see how Harry's doing and he keeps plotting against them. Thanks for another great chapter!

My guess is the whole family will move to England. God help the Brits.

I wonder what Gomez will do when the the Old Man strikes out? He's already screwed up twice now and I suspect that even Gomez is starting to get irritated with this song and dance routine. The Addamses might not have many ways to punish Dumbledore, but they do have one powerful threat available. Hogwarts is far from the only school available, and Harry's secondary educations might well be better served at the French school. There's also quite possibly a few American schools that would educate Gomez's children just as well without the over bearing interferance of the school's Headmaster. Unless of course Dumbledore can produce a magically enforceable contract saying that Harry *has* to go to Hogwarts. It wouldn't surprise me however, if Albus tried to accept Harry but turn Wednesday and Pugsley away. I don't think he'd try to Memory Charm the Addam's children, but depending on his unwillingness to bend, they might just have to guard against the possibliety.

I find this side of the Addams Family Fascinating. I only ever watched the movies, a few of the cartoons, and three or four of the first season of the 60's show, so I find your take on the series fascinating. Plus, i enjoy how you encorporate harry into the series rather seemlessly. It is a very interesting read.

That's a great story, I never thought such a crossover would work, but you did great. I just hope you dont re-enact the canon books when he gets to Hogwarts. And dont start shipping to soon, it ruins all the good stories, when they meet the love of their lives when they're still kids. And personally I hope for an open-minded, well-informed, ambitious and skillful Harry. Not the dumb kid we all know from PS. Keep it up!

This story is really good.I like how the Addams live in the grey between worlds.
As for the differnce between how Amercians treat magical childen and how the Brits do has more to do with that Amercans are not working agenst 1000 years of tradions and customs. No to mention entreched old blood familes who hold power.

It read, quite succinctly, "Strike two."

Hehehe.

I don't think he'd survive a third strike.

Excellent work. Loved reading it. I wonder if
excess magic from a develping wizard could spark
off the developing cores in what would normaly be
squibs. It'd explain a lot.

I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

Maybe, but I'm not going to get into that level of speculation, because it isn't necessary for this story.   Wednesday and Pugsley would always have been magical. It skipped generations from Grandmama.   Because of Harry, they found it out early.   That's all.

I hope Dumbledore's not nuts enough to try for a strike three. Just let Harry be, until Hogwarts sends him his letter.

I'm really beginning to enjoy this. I have a feeling that the Addams family is quite extensive and will make Harry's Hogwarts years quite inteesting with their visits. Heh, They'll drive Dumbledore mad.

What an imaginative story. I am so enjoying it.

Normally I don't care for crossovers, but for some reason, I decided to read this one. You really hooked me when you decided to have the Addamses live in my old hometown, Westfield, NJ. I have to laugh a little at myself, as I recall thinking, 'I hope they're on my old street.'

I really like how you've characterized everyone, and that Pugsley and Wednesday are also magical.

I am quite looking forward to more, please,

Thank you,

Ishtar replied:

:D !   I was wondering if anybody from the local area would read the story!   I've lived in the area for over twenty years and read Weird NJ regularly - so a bit of that crept into the story.   Westfield was the home town of Charles Addams, and he modeled his Addams Family house on two houses in town, one on Elm Street and one on Dudley.   My husband and I went to scope those houses out from the sidewalk before I started writing, and that's when I discovered Arcanum Hall.   (Also a very nice little magic shop downtown.)    There are many beautiful old houses in that section of town.  The Addams Family House as  I describe it, though, would  actually be located further west, probably in Springfield or Mountainside, on a road leading up from Rt. 22 into the Wachungs.   But for purposes of the story and as an homage to Addams, I'm calling it Westfield.

My mental model of the House is a combination of three houses: one I lived in in Plainfield for a couple of years; one  in Hempstead, L.I. that  I helped paint with some friends from  church when I was a teenager; and one that was not far from where I grew up in Massapequa, L.I., that was this massive Second Empire thing (with tower!)  in the middle of a block of post-war development houses, with coffin-width doors, red satin curtains, and a black wrought iron fence around it.   I swear it APPEARED and DISAPPEARED when it felt like it, because there were times I looked for it and it just wasn't there!
