I've never thought of looking for this xover before, now that I have seen it, I have be scouring FFN and other such places for this xover. Thanks for introducing me! Also, as usual, great work!

FFNet and Archive of Our Own both have a nice selection of Sherlock/Harry crosses.

You have me hooked! Waiting with baited breath for next chapter. Keep up th good work. As Bilbo, Dan would be great and the family resemblinse would be nice and strange at the same time since people mix up Dan and Elijia at times as it is :)
Ishtar replied:
The resemblance was what gave me the idea, actually. Likewise, since Sherlock = Benedict Cumberbatch, I needed somebody else for Smaug, and I love Jeremy Irons' voice, so ... And I realized this morning that I should have had Christopher Lee play Gandalf, since he was not only considered for the role, but he knew Tolkien personally and Tolkien wanted him to play Gandalf if they ever did a movie of it. So that's my headcanon for the movies in this 'verse. For what it's worth.

Very interesting story. It seems Sherlock is a aquib or at least has enough magic that he can see Harry's "bedroom" door. Can we hope to see Mycroft Holmes at some point? I'm not too familiar with the BBC Sherlock series; does Mycroft have the same undefined but significant role with the British Government that he had in the Conan Doyle stories? Looking forward to Chapter 3...
Ishtar replied:
In the show Mycroft is the British government, according to Sherlock. He's at least a governmental liaison with MI6 and has some sort of international influence in Asia. In this story, Mycroft may not show up physically, but is nevertheless a strong influence: who do you think the Wizarding World has been hiding from for the last 20 years? And yeah, Sherlock's got ... something.

Excellent chapter; it will be interesting to see how you develop these ideas

I have been having lots of fun with the world-building on this one.
