Wow, Interesting story. I have to say at first that I avoided the story just because I didn't think that it would make and sense, but I have to say after reading the first chapter I changed my mind and can't wait for the next.

I do have one question than I hope your story will address or that you would be willing to answer.

How is Mortica related to Lily and Petunia, she wouldn't be a Addams until she married Gomez and therefore would not have any blood relation to Harry's maternal grandmother? So when the contract was signed to gain custody of Harry, Gomez's finger print would have sealed the deal.

Thanks for you time and keep up the good work.

Morticia's maiden name is also Addams.   Her mother was Rosemary Addams Evans' cousin.   This makes Morticia and Petunia second cousins.   Gomez is Morticia's second cousin on the other side.   (The TV show canon had Morticia's maiden name being Frump, but I can't see that woman ever being a Frump, can you?)   Harry and the Addams children are third/fifth cousins depending on which side you count.   There's all sorts of mad intermarriage among the Addamses  - it's almost as bad as the British pure-bloods.

The current owner is an absentee landlord, and doesn’t care whether it’s haunted or not. There’s a caretaker for the grounds, and Thing and Lurch can handle the interior. It’s pretty much furnished. Place even comes with its own graveyard. It’ll be just like home."

Hmmm.... The Riddle estate?

This looks like a really great fic. I can't wait for the next update. That, and any story with Dumbledore bashing is alright in my book. Also, I'm just wondering, was the house Remus was talking about the Riddle Manor from "The Goblet of Fire"?

I love Morticia's manipulations of Dumbledore, she's so wickely devious, yet very likable because her love of her family is quite apparent. I'm eager to find out how the rest of the Hogwarts faculty and Harry's year mates will react to the Addams children. Looking forward to the next chapter.

not only has the stage been set, but you've got us the readers delightfully off balance, as we don't really understand all the pieces you've set in play. For instance, which parts of the contract did Dumbledore manage to negotiate away? Will there really be a PTA at Hogwarts? Parental supervision of field trips?

And I still haven't made up my mind about Snape, and I *REALLY* look forward to seeing that. I can see them enjoying the challenge and enjoying "besting" him, so letting him be. I can also see them getting him removed ASAP. I can also see them seeing him as a threat and removing him themselves... so many delicious possibilities.

And what of Harry? We really don't know that much about him yet. You've kept him mostly in the wings. We don't really know just how his personality has devloped over all these years.

I wonder just when, exactly, will Albus realize that Remus is not his "lackey". and what a shock will that be?

thanks for sharing, you're going well. Don't worry about the word count, the story rocks!

Good for Moony. Got a new job coming up and his health is better. How soon into the school year before Snivellus outs him?

ahah!!
This, the whole adams going back to england, and taking Remus as history teacher, are some good ideas. I always was surprised how badly organised hogwart was, especially since rowling is a teacher herself...

*Laughs* Oh, quite a delightful romp there. But the house the Addams are buying, that wouldn't happen to be from a certain Riddle family, would it? -That- could cause all sorts of havoc. *low wicked laugh*

This is really good. I'm still anxiously waiting for the first class with Snape! And I can't even imaging Draco's reactions to the Addames! They will be in Slytherin, I presume.

If your refrence to Honeychurch was a nod to darkmoore, then a cookie for you, along with a 'well done'. This story is shaping up to be great, and I can barely wait 'til the next installment.

Now why do I have a feeling that the haunted house is nothing but the Riddle house??

Sneaky!!

Love it. What the world needs are more Morticias and a lot few Senile Manipulators.

Very interesting Chapter. Did Morticia sign for both Gomez and Herself?
Could you explain what the subjects are Mortcia mentioned as well? I'm sure it will be an interesting chapter, and i cant wait for the first confrontation with snape.

Ishtar replied:

The subjects Morticia listed are the names they used at Salem for the equivalent subjects they have at Hogwarts.   Enchantments = Charms, Transmogrification = Transfiguration, Brews = Potions, etc.   Curses and Hexes is actual Dark Arts, which includes but is not limited to Defense from them ... and McGonagall missed that, in the middle of the list of all the unfamiliar names.   Some of the classes are very similar but not exactly the same thing.   For example, Herbalism includes aspects of Healing as well as Herbology, and has quite a bit of Chinese and African magic included.   Symbology includes Ancient Runes, but also Hieroglyphs and Pictograms as magical foci.   Arithmancy includes Feng Shui, since they both make extensive use of numerical Magic Squares (and the Wizards have Sudoku well before it catches on with the Muggles!)   At Salem, they study  elective classes from Year One and have the option of switching for other classes at various points, so students can get an exremely well-rounded education.
