Well that was a quite interesting turn of events. I really didn't expect the Riddle House, but ah well. Now Harry finding that ring, that was an interesting change from the normal story. And then what he threatened to do with it. Heheheh

I was glad to see another update, and this chapter did not disappoint. The Diagon Alley Trust seems interesting, I'm sure you have more plans for that. Looks like Dumbledore's hand won't be getting shriveled later though. Now for Hogwarts.

Hehe, 1 of 6 Horcruxes found. Unless the silver dagger is one as well? Probably not.
So are the blood candles burned or not? It was interesting foreshadowing, when you said they could be used against their creator.
Ishtar replied:
Harry doesn't know, since they kicked the kids out at that point and I'm trying to follow his POV as much as possible from now on. There will be bits of other people's POV, and maybe we'll find out then.

oh this is getting better all the time. he mow has two count them two of the horcuxes(spelling). then next year the diary. i love the way you are doing this. your letting him know something is strange about these objects just not what. it looks like you will have most if not all of them in his vault at a latter time. i hope i got that right. i do love the way you write.

This is a really great Thanksgiving day treat!!!! Lurch is an effective deterrent for massive hordes. When will Harry get around to destroy said Horcruxes? I do hope that they scare Draco and a few others silly. Does this mean that Sirius would get freed from Azkaban? I wonder on how long it would take for Gomez to give someone some serious heart burn. Did they get their wands yet? I do hope that Harry throws the ring and a few others into the active volcano. :-"
Ishtar replied:
Yeah, Lurch is a one-man anti-riot squad. The Aurors ought to look into hiring him. At this point, Harry doesn't know it's a Horcrux or that it needs to be destroyed. He'll find that out later. Don't you mean "scare Draco sillier"? The kids have already spent a year at Salem; of course they got wands for that. Harry will not be getting the Fawkes-feather wand.

<chuckles> Oh dear... Though I imagine that'd be a good way to take out a horcrux.
Ishtar replied:
As long as the Horcrux believes it ...

"It had stopped insisting that he wear it after he had threatened to throw it into an active volcano."
Hehehehe.. the classics are *always* useful. I'm glad to see Gomez and Morticia insisted on a good education for Harry. And who knows? A brief trip to Hawaii wouldn't be THAT irritating for the Addams.
And, oh lord, Malfoy peres is going to be pissed! Here he goes, thinking to sucker a little kid and gain control of the entire Alley, only to see it slip away. He'll have a stroke, hopefully. :)
What's Ms Longbottom's motivation, though? Is she a true independant? Or just a front for Dumbledore when he needs to deal with someone who doesn't like him personally?

Ishtar replied:
Mt. Etna is closer. And it was supposed to be the entrance to Tartarus. A fitting place to toss Tommy-boy's soul fragments, no? Mrs. Longbottom has always struck me as being independent. She's most likely looking out for Neville's interests, here, and trying to regain the balance between the Light and Dark factions in the Trust. If Malfoy had a stroke, I wouldn't be able to play with him any more? Surely you don't want to disappoint me?

Interesting, Harry has already collected a Horcrux. Not that he knows what it is yet. Can't wait for them to make their first appearance at Hogwarts!

It had stopped insisting that he wear it after he had threatened to throw it into an active volcano.
*chuckle* Well, it seems that horocruz got a comparatively non-stupid part of Riddle's soul. It's going to be interesting if that ring's ever mentioned to Dumbledore. I like the way this is going and I can't wait to see the havoc the Addams' wreak on certain party's plans. :D
Ishtar replied:
It was probably the part with the common sense.

An excellent story this is. I've never read a "Harry lives with the Addams" story before...
Anyway...as for the storyline...I seriously don't think Potter should be friends with Weasley and Granger...sorry, but that "trio" thing is waaaay overused, put him somewhere else other than Gryffindor...also overused...and I seriously hope you do something nasty about Snape being an asswipe (say for instance, Potter gets Snape fired for being a biased ass), and I really hope you don't make Potter a pussy (Like Rowlings did, he was a total pussy in the real books), of course, this is all just my own personal opinion. The whole "I'm a good little Gryffie" is totally overused, honestly. Besides...the Hat wanted him in Slytherine in the first place in the book, that was the hats first choice, and of course, the old man is a total manipulater, so go figure. I honestly think it was all set-up to make Potter his little toy in the books. Anyway...keep up the excellent writing...and please please, think about what I said, seriously consider it. Keep it up.
Richard.

poor Harry, Wednesday has him whipped already. Good part, especially liked Lurch's reaction to the crowd.
Ishtar replied:
In the right hands, a whip could be a lot of fun.
But they're a little young for that ...

Phew, quite a start to their life in the old country. First there's an interesting piece of family history coming up with the goblins. Then they find a satanist ring in the house, probably where Tom made his horcruxes, and finally the kids have a dare with the local kids, meaning they've got to stay the night in the Gaunt house, thus stumbling over one of Voldemorts horcruxes! Wow, that's a lot. But when will they understand what this all is, and when will they discover who's house it is they're staying in? Time will tell, and I sure as anything look forward to the next update!
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers!

And so it begins.
Will Hogwarts survive? Will thing help Snape with his potions? And What will happen when Gomez adds a little Addams style magic to the trust?
Better duck Lucy your betters are here.
Great chapter.

An absolutely brilliant chapter, filled with so many outstanding parts that I can't begin to list them all. Great job, thank you.

This was good. I had a feeling that they'd be moving to The Riddle House when I read about the abandoned manor. Surprised no mention of the townies getting on them for living in a haunted house though.
I'm guessing the knife isn't a horcrux but may have been used in the ceremony needed to create one.
Was the book written in parsel?
Ishtar replied:
The townies could have, but I didn't feel like writing all that when it wasn't really important.
The knife was going to be a horcrux - it was going to be the sixth one, created with the split from Harry's death. Voldie had the whole thing set up, ready to go, and never came back to do the ritual.
And no, the book isn't written in Parsel. (I hold to the theory that there's no written form of parseltongue because snakes can't write.) It's written in ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics with a scrambling spell on top of it.
